While I do not recommend air travel to a miniatures con, Baltimore is cheap and only 2 hours from Lancaster, and sometimes flights to and from Reading PA, are cheaper than Philadelphia, even though the first leg is to Phila. (dont ask me why)

Speaking as one in the outback ( California ) as far as 7th / Warrior
cons are concerned, I would like to see more held in cities that are hubs
for the major airlines and held at an airport hotel.  It is much cheaper
to fly in to a hub and flying is the only option for us on the west
coast.  Round trip air fare for me to Historicon is about $500 vs about
$150 - $250 to many hubs.

The trouble with flying into Baltimore ( or N. Y. and D. C. ) for
Historicon is the need to rent a car or train tickets. By the time all
is said and done it costs the same as flying direct and flying direct
takes much less time.

I have flown into D.C. the last 2 trips to Historicon, but it was part
of a larger vacation. I flew direct for cold wars as I was just going
out for the con. Flying is the only real option for us in Calif. That
is why I look to see if a con is being held at an air hub. If it is not,
it has to be a con the size and length of cold wars or Historicon to be
worth the additional expense.
