Alamo City Warrior Tournament Series
A NASAMW Sanction Tournament
This past weekend (August 16-17), we had the first of our monthly Alamo City
Warrior Tournament that will culminant with Second Republic of Texas
National Warrior Tournament Championship in the summer of 2004. The next
tournaments in the series are tentatively set for September 20-21 and
October 25-26.
The tournament attendance was very good. We had two newbies (Duane & Todd)
that participated and both of them did very well in the tournament. We
signed up three new and three renewing NASAMW members just before the
tournament and at the tournament.
The tournament was our standard Southwest Warrior format of three games on
Saturday and the championship on Sunday with a fun game afterwards. The fun
game included another newbie Robyn*. The pairing was random and avoided
traditional match ups.

I have a few questions about your tournament.
What scale was it in?
How many points?
What sized tables?
Thanks

Adrian,
It was 15mm, 1600 points, standard 6'x4' tables.

This tournament was the most fun you can have without removing your
clothes. Bill Chriss, being a Greek Hoplite player, actually
suggested it. We took one look at our splendid referee, Big Dave, and
decided against it. Not part of Warrior, but a good call at any rate.
Some people think playoff games are boring and marked by far too much
posturing and delay tactics. If you think that, try having a playoff
game with Mike Forbes. Mike and I are good friends, but for some
reason our troops went after each other like it was an Aggies vs.
Longhorns football game.
The best game I got to glance at was Mike Forbes, and one of our up-
and-coming new players, Duane Nagel. I think the winner in this game
suffered about 60% casualties. I think this game also featured a
casualty count of 168, when 18 moogs hit some poor defenseless heavy
infantry unit.
FYI ... I really did not drink all that much beer. No more than three
six-packs to be sure. ;-)

Sorry, Greg, that must have been someone else's game.
ours was the one in which a unit of Almughavars(tm)
was routed by a unit of Scythian light cav. LC, B!

Ok, maybe it was six six packs and it was strange, your game improved with
the more beers that you drank.

So Greg,
Just how many of these tournaments do play in without your clothing? It has
to be that Texas Beer!

These things happen when you put two excitable boys

Hey,Grant! Don is right, Forth Worth Wars is the next tourney. I hope
everyone can make a big effort to make it.
Nothing scheduled in S.A. but a game day at my house on the 20th, all are
invited.
