This is what I always do in the theme: Play the Greekest army
available. However, on those years when the umpire offers no overtly
Greek or Byzantine army choice, I get as close as I can to a Greek
army and make them as "Greeky" as possible. This year, it just
happened to be Later Judaeans, which, in my view, is a good list to
use against what I'm likely to see across the table. My only regret
was when I saw Jon say just that here in a post about a week ago. I
was hoping I'd hit on something no one else had thought of for once!
I could have gone Commagene or somesuch, but too Macedonian...not
enough Hellenistic peltasts or hoplites for my taste.....
