Hi everyone.

What is the smallest sized battle (in points) anyone has played using
Warrior (not fast Warrior, but point based games)? What sized table did you
use if different from mini Warrior?

Also, what was the largest **single** player (i.e. non-team game) per side
anyone has played, and again what table size if different from the standard?

Just wondering how far these rules will stretch outside of tournament play,
mainly at the smaller end of the spectrum. Has anyone played a 600 point
mini Warrior game (is that possible?)?

Kurt:

Typically I play with a 1,600 point army on a 6' x 4' table. However, I
have play with as much as 2,400 points on a slightly larger table.

Kurt,

Our largest battle to date here in DFW was 4000 points to a side played in
15mm on a 10 x 6 table. But that was played with 3 players to a side.
Conceivably it could have been played with just two players but would likely
have been very cumbersome. As far as I can tell, the only restrictions would
be figures and list maximums with regards to command points and generals. Of
course in your own house you can add or disregard any part of any list you
like.

Hello Kurtus ...

I played a pre-Warrior game (don't even want to say the name, haha) in a
tournament once where each side had the usual 1500 points of 15mm figures on a
6'x4' table. I had Comnenan Byzantine (back before the knights were good) so
what I basically had was lots of light cavalry. I was playing some sort of
Pike/Elephant/Scythed Chariot army (that will also remain nameless). I decided
to flank march everything but my C-in-C and a few units of LC. The flank march
ended up being about 1000 points, leaving me about 500 on the table. Well, the
flank march never came on (as you might have guessed) so I played with 500
points. Fortunately, the Gods smile on the congenitally stupid, and I got two
clean shots with 12 figure light cavalry at 16 figure MI pike units, and rolled
+3 with each shot. My opponent was keeping those nasty chariot things back to
kill my flank march when it came on (also known as cheating) and was supporting
the pikes with LI and Elephants. Well, the +3 gave me a perfect 48 casualties, I
got to charge both units and wrap them both on the shieldless side (oh, the
glory days) and broke both units. My opponent got a serious case of 1-itis and
couldn't make a waver test to save his soul. The long and short of it is that he
got 500 points for my flank march not coming on, and I killed 600 points of his
stuff.

And they say there is no God!

My brother-in-law and myself used to play with 4,000 points of 15mm medievals on
a 6'x8' table. We custom crafted the two lists so both sides had tons of things
like HI spearmen, EHI 2HCT, close order crossbowmen, with peasant levy's etc ...
(you know, all the stuff you see in historical battle accounts that NOBODY ever
buys.) We put a screen up between the table sides and blind deployed. These
games were lots of fun and turned into serious slug fests.

The best battles we ever fought were 1500 points of 15mm troops on an 8' wide
table, where nobody could deploy in the flank sectors. These games were great
and you got a very historical feel with all the light troops rushing out to try
to get a flank advantage, rather than screening good stuff like you see so often
in 15mm battles.

Anyway, sorry for writing a book, and have a good day.

Greg
