Heads up. The ancmed and dbmlist group users are having a spate of
virus problems. Here's the rundown I've recieved to far:

Be on the alert for a virus that is rapidly spreading.

BADTRANS is a mass-mailing worm that drops a remote-access Trojan
that starts logging keystrokes. The virus arrives via Microsoft
Outlook and attempts to send itself by replying to all unread email
messages in your Inbox.

The email may contain the text "Take a look to the attachment" or it
may be blank.
The attachment name will vary. It will have three sections; for
example, filename.doc.pif.
The first extension of the attachment will be either .doc or .mp3
or .zip.
The second extension of the attachment will be either .scr or .pif.

If you receive this message, permanently delete it from your Inbox by
pressing Shift and Delete.

Virus definitions dated November 24 or later will prevent the worm
from spreading. If your definitions are not up to date run Live
Update or contact your support department for assistance.

Live Update refers to Norton Anti Virus Version 7.6

This virus affects Win95/95/2000 users and attacks the operating
system kernal. Very nasty. It doesn't affect NT kernals but will
use an NT machine running Outlook to forward to anyone in the mailbox.
First defence would be to turn off the preview screen in Outlook
since this is an ActiveX component.
