Please excuse me for posting this in the Warrior board, but my email
seems to be down, and at any rate, this is not particularly
controversial.

I don't know if it is too late to make suggestions to Imperial, but I
have one. :-)

The barbarian trash presented in the old TOG 6th and NASAMW lists,
represented Frankish troops as well as any number of other Germanic
types, (Frisians, Burgundian, Thuringians, etc ...). On the old list,
they were listed, but all the troops were armed and armored as
Franks. Not really accurate in my opinion.

Perhaps what could happen, is that one or the other (or smaller
numbers of both) could be offered, with Franks & Burgundians armed as
Franks, and the rest armed like the infantry on DAW list #3. This
might not be "better" but would be more accurate, in my opinion.

Opps ... I guess Burgundians would be offered not as Franks but as
Burgundians. Guess I should have read that post before I hit enter.

Bottom line, Franks in my opinion would probably be Allies (not sure
why they didn't do this on the old list) and require a General.
Probably should not be able to use Franks with Huns.

All other more Germanic types would probably be Foederati under Roman
command if in limited numbers per tribe, or with an Ally if in large
numbers per tribe ... and usable as Foederati in smaller numbers with
Huns.

Anyway, just my opinion and I hope it helps. Been tearing up books
about these guys as of late. Very interesting stuff.
