I keep running across this battle while browsing army lists. I looked it up
in AANE, and it seems like an ideal battle to reproduce for a club "This is
how you play Ancients, annd why you need to buy 25mm" type of game.
I am painting up quite a few "Fast Warrior" armies. For the unwashed (I am
posting to a few lists besides Warior), think 700 point WRG 7th, think 2xDBA,
think 800 point WAB, approximately. It occurs to me that a full size 859BCE
Assyrian army (lots of 2 horse chariots), plus Fast Warrior neo-Hittite, Late
Hebrew, and Midianite Arab armies can fit the bill nicely.
I am sending my scouts to Fall In to check out Irregular Assyrians and Eureka
chariots are reasonably priced and beautiful.
My question is, what is the background of Karkar? Are there any books, or
online resources to help me out here? I would like to do more than just
plunk some lead on the table.
