Greek, a couple of points. First, although I did not play 7th in th
old days of the Gisclair, I would always go to watch, and so it is
possible that we have met before. Second, that being said, I do
know John Green, and he is certainly no gentleman! :)
Fianlly, Dave Deitrich has set the parameters for the tournament, so
I would assume that "any" means _any_!
Take care,
Hilton

Yee hah. Be ready for an invasion of Texas boys! Greg, Dave, Harlan,
Chris, Don, John (Big Daddy) are you guys ready to go a-ridin' and
a-ropin' into Louisiana like the good old days when Norbert Gisclair was
7th TOG? Will Gentleman Johnny Green of Lake Charles be present? I'm
already storing up brownie points with the warden for this road trip.
Heck, you guys from Missouri ought to be close enough to meet us halfway,
too. But Hilton ANY published list? Okay with you if I bring my Greek
hoplite list published in Spearpoint (latest iteration may be found in
files section to this e-list)? #Whatever I bring WILL be Greek!

I'm afraid that I will also be out of hand that weekend. Sorry, it sounds like
fun.

I'll look forward to seeing you there. Plan to attend myself. Not sure what
I'll bring yet. Sounds cool. BTW, where is Metairie, LA?

Well, it looks like it's the same as New Orleans, kind of like the
difference between Brownsville and San Benito. About a ten hour drive for
me, more like 12 or 13 for you--up 77 to Houston, then I-10 East thru
Beaumont to N.O. If we can make it, I think the guys in MO can.

If I had more notice, I'd be sure to be there. I have family in Baton
Rouge, but the trip there is already planned for later this summer. Is this
an annual event, same time, same place next year?

That sounds about right. I will drive Friday afternoon and then get up early
Saturday to actually get there. Wife and kids will probably go exploring
that day.

Johnny,
Use the yahoo maps engine. It will give you a pretty decent route to start
out with.

good thinking. The wily greek might even be able to lure his Helen of
Sparta along with promises of beignets and freedom to shop.

John,
Metairie, LA is a suburb of New Orleans. About 5-6 hours west of
Houston on I-10.

We plan to make it so. Bayou Wars and HMGS Gulf South have hosted
DBM and DBR tournaments for the past several years. Gulf South
hosted the International Wargames Federation DBM and DBR tournaments
in 2003, drawing over 120 players from around the world, including
the UK, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and France.
There is no reason that Warrior should not be a success, as there
are a number of players in the Gulf South area.

Thanks Hilton,
I will make every effort to be there next year. And is there a better place
to visit than New Orleans??

Er, actually New Orleans is 5-6 hours EAST of Houston, but no sweat,
I knew that's what you meant . Do Greeks get a +1 on terrain rolls
for directional acumen? :)
