Last year Bayou Wars 12 hosted a Warrior event coordinated (very
ably) by Dave Dietrich. As he has relocated, I am doing some
preliminary work into maintaining and increasing a Warrior presence
at Bayou Wars 13.
From the BW Yahoo Group:
"Bayou Wars 2005 will be June 3rd, 4th, and 5th at the Quality Inn
in Metairie. The room rates are the same as last year. The
registration rates are the same as last year. "
The Bayou Wars website is http://bayouwars.org/
Please note that as of 1/24 the web site has not been updated. Basic
information should still be the same.
I have already contacted Allen Bostick (event coordinator) and
received the following:
"Hey Roger,
I need details on how many you expect to participate. How many
tables/how much space you would need. When would you want to hold
the tournament? We already have DBM, Warhammer 40K, Battle Cry, and
War Machine scheduled for Saturday. Not that we couldn't fit
another tournament in, but I don't want to allocate the tables if
there is a competition for space.
As of right now there is no deadline for application, but I need more
information from you before I can give you a full answer and
confirm."
Last year there was about three weeks notice before the convention
and we had 6 players. With five months lead time that extrapolates
to 30+ players...<is this were I put LOL?>
Please consider and let me know if you would be a "probable" to
attend.
Thank you,
Roger Walker

Roger,
I was wondering why Bayou Wars is so close to Nashcon this year? Having it
within such close proximity of a con so nearby and at the end of May would
surely decrease your numbers one would think.

I would venture that the BW organizers gave little consideration to any
other events...that's the date they settled on. Just unfortunate
coincidence.

Want to keep this event in front of the group. Web site is not
completely updated, but general information is posted:
http://bayouwars.org/
We are planning a 15mm Warrior tournement for Saturday (June 4), one
list, three 3 1/2 hour rounds.
We had six last year (thanks again to Dave Dietrich), as of now we
have five planning to attend with three months left before gane time.
More messages, more strident, later.

Is anyone planning to run a Warrior event at Bayou Wars this June?
I'm planning of taking leave time to attend if so. Also does anyone
know why the site shows two different weekend dates for this con'?
I called the hotel and they confrmed that it was scheduled for the 3-
5th yet many of the pages on the Bayou Wars site shows the following
weekend.
On a related note, are their any other tournies in the Texas area
planned for the near future? I've got a couple of armies worked up
and am itching to get back into the Warrior tourny scene...such that
it is.

We are organizing a Warrior tournament for Bayou Wars 2005. I am waiting for
confirmation from the Event Organizer for six tables (12 players would
double last years turn out). The plan is for Saturday, three 3.5 rounds, one
list, 1600 points.
So far there are at least 3 from Mobile (probably 4), John Garlic from
Texas, and Charles from KC said he will try to make it.
The Bayou Wars website has updated their home page but have not updated many
of their links...including event schedule.
Thanks for the interest. Hope to see you there.

Howdy,
If someone shoots me the details I'll be happy to post them on the NASAMW
site as well.
