Good morning John,

Great to see you again. Hope you enjoyed the weekend.

Looked through the emails on the Warrior Yahoo group referring to breakthrough
and the tone suggest that breakthrough is restricted to front to rear, so the
literal reading of the rule book was right.

Did notice the following email response. Don't know what section it refers
to...probably the one that deals specifically with chariots, but thought you
might be interested.

You should mention that chariots breakthrough any unsteady troops, or
loose
or open order unless the chariots themselves have been pushed back or
routed.
No 3-1 required.

Yep, Ed is correct. ANY unit that does x3 damage can break through.
For chariots, it's about the only way to save them from getting
creamed in the next bound.
