John
Warrior rulesmeister here.
Actually, all of those solutions are totally ok: stagger them, base them 3 to
a base and count them as four, deeper bases but plyed as the standard depth.
I would prefer the other two solutions to three on a base, but it is still
totally acceptable.
We have a rules section that says:
"Some manufacturers figures are much larger than the nominal 15mm/25mm scale.
It is permissible to extend depth (NOT WIDTH) of an element to accommodate
such if necessary. The guiding principles should be that it should be no
more than required to fit the figures securely to the base and will not
permit the owning player to derive any game benefit.
If the figures of both opposing armies are based for another system, decide
how much frontage represents one element and play on! "
Which I think captures the idea well.

Newbie here, but an old sweat from 5th and 6th ed days.
On the Warhammer list, I sign off as John the OFM (John the
oldfahrtmeister) which means I am a holdout for the traditional
values of painted figures, historical lists, and whatever else
strikes my fancy. If I accidentally sign off as the OFM, humor me.
I have also argued in favor of using DBX/WRG basing in WAB so that
players can use as many game systems as possible, Seems reasonable
to me, but not all agree.
My problem is with large 28mm figures. If anyone has Redoubt Trojan
War figures, you know what I mean. I suppose those on the WAB list
are sick of my caling them the prettiest wargaming figures ever made,
but that is my opinion. The problem is that it is virtually
impossible to mount 4 of these figures (the spearmen or pikemen) on a
MI stand How do Warrior players deal with this? Do you base 3 on a
stand and count it as 4? Do you cram them on, looking like crap? Do
you increase the base depth to LMI to put 4 on a base and notify your
opponent that they are MI, not LMI?
I have been told by friends that they have the same problem with
modern SHC, and a few other close packed troops. (Old Glory
hoplites, for one.)
What is the standard solution? Only using Trojans in WAB but not
Warrior is not a good solution for me.
Thanks,
John

Hey OFM;
Welcome to the list. Feel free to jump in on all kinds of stuff,
just like you did on the WABlist. IIRC, most of your compadre's
played Warrior, so you were having some basing dilemma's. I've made
the transition to Warrior from WAB, and am looking forward to the
first competition in a few weeks.
