I'm playing Burgundian Ordonnance, and I have an 8-stand unit currently in the
following position:
- 2 elements wide, 4 ranks deep
- front rank Ordonnance HI P,Sh
- second rank Ordonnance HI 2HCW,LB
- third rank Ordonnance HI 2HCW,LB
- fourth rank Ordonnance MI P

The list rule states "Ordonnance Longbowmen may fire over a single rank of
Ordonnance Pikemen."

This strikes me as ambiguous between three possible interpretations:
(1) Treat as if the pikes weren't there. Hence 1 1/2 ranks, i.e. 12 figures, of
longbowmen get to shoot;
(2) Treat as if the pikes were the equivalent of longbowmen. Hence 1/2 rank,
i.e. 4 figures, of longbowmen get to shoot;
(3) Read as a single rank of longbowmen may fire over a single rank of pikemen.
Hence 1 rank, i.e. 8 figures, of longbowmen get to shoot.

So which is it? Door (1), door (2), or door(3)?

>Door #2
