Hmmm...posted a query this morning, but it must have gotten lost in
cyberspace, or maybe Brian F. sabotoged it. 8^) Just purchased a
15mm Nike Byz army from a friend who had it constructed for Armati.
I'm going through the process of setting it up for Warrior, and
needed some help and clarification from this august body.

Were the Varangian guards uniformed by the state or did they retain
some individuality as mercenaries?

Are the Nike Byz SHC based as close order? For some reason I recall
that the Byz Klibanaphoros fought in a looser order, but then again,
that may have come from WAB.

Geez, the NASAMW revision of the Nike list is substantially different
than the old WRG book 2 list. The FW Nike list is more reminiscent
of the original list. Until superseded, am I free to choose which
list to follow?

Hold off making a determination. The Nike Byz list is done in draft
form and will be published in the fall. Paul Georgian has the draft
copy for revision. Unlike questions about armies like the Japanese,
this is an army that's about to see the light of day.
