This mail is for those who could and potentially would actually ATTEND Call to
Arms in KC April 30 and May 1 2004.

We are planning the following:
1200pts, 15mm, 4'x4' table, 2.5 hour rounds.

Four rounds, one on Friday evening (about 8pm) and three on Saturday starting at
9am.

The question is: for those of you considering attending this event, is it better
that:

1. There are four rounds to give you an extra game to play and a more clearly
defined winner.

2. There is no game friday evening and only play on saturday to help your
travel plans.

Jon

I prefer four games with one on Friday night, for the reason you
outlined.

Questions in return:

Do we use the minimums in the list books, even thought they are
designed for larger armies?

Is it two terrain rolls each or three, which I guess is a question of
how you round, but does make a HUGE difference?

Fair and open, roll for generals, weather, etc ... ?

Thanks ... g

P.S. Sorry if this is premature! :-)

1200 pt tourneys use the list books as written. The list books are *not*
designed for larger armies.

Yeah, let me pile on here. We absolutely did not do the minimums of the FHE
list books to a particular army point size, so that rumor can die right now....

Jon,
I would be for playing 4 games. Also, if you theme the tournament, I could
paint up a 16 figure unit of Foundry Late Romans based on beveled elements and
flocked for a Next to Last Place prize. . .

Good point Kelly ...

Jon, I will also contribute something towards prizes, both some gift
certificates from my Wife's hobby shop, and some painted stuff.

Okay,
Then it's potluck for the lead that I paint. I did make a purchase of
11,500 figures for around $600.00 a few years back in an estate sale and I'm
still trying to get rid of some of them, I suppose I'll do something different
but I plan of painting up something. Perhaps I could get some Ideas of what
people could use for 15mm or 25mm that are attending our little tournament?
Would anyone be interested in posting what they would liket to see as a prize?

kelly too much time on
my hands

Kelly,

The original intent was to have a Roman Theme Tournament to support the
release of Imperial Warrior, but with the “short notice” effort of trying to
get a lot of the out of town guys in, restricting it to a theme would be a
hindrance to those people out of town who didn’t have an “Roman Themed
Army”.

That being said, I would encourage anyone who has a Roman Army to bring it
to the Call to Arms Open, and I can pick up some more tactics on how to use
my LIR…

Todd
