Jon,

The issue of charge target, charge path, and allowable wheel in a charge is
still very unclear to me.

From previous posts I was of the opinion that one declared a charge path and the
charger was then allowed to wheel at the start of the charge to put itself into
the charge path.

Your latest post on this subject seems to indicate that the above is incorrect.

As I read your latest posts, you seem to intend for the sequence to read:

1. Declare a charge on a body
2. Wheel the minimum distance needed to contact the declared body.
3. Wheeling beyond the minimum distance needed to contact the closest element of
the declared enemy body in order to choose the point on the enemy body you whish
to contact is forbidden. Thus if the charger is several elements wide, and if at
least one of its elements can contact without a wheel, the charger is not
allowed to wheel to bring a greater number of elements into contact.
4. The charge path is not determined by the player. The charge path is fixed by
the starting position of the charger and the body the charge is declared on.

Is this your intent?

Ed

No....

<<In the past when I have asked on this list, I believe you have

body as a target - >>

When you declare on a target, the declaration also counts against all enemy
in the path - that much is true.

<<and that in fact that charge path can include
multiple enemy bodies so that, for instance, if the first one
potentially contacted evades exposing its neighbor to a flank charge
then the other body can be targeted.>>

True.

But none of that changes my answer to the other question, which was about
wheeling.

Jon

No, 2 should be wheel up to 45 degrees whatever angle you declared you would
wheel. As long as this is on the corner closest to the target, its ok.

<<3. Wheeling beyond the minimum distance needed to contact the closest element
of the declared enemy body in order to choose the point on the enemy body you

Not true, and I cannot find where I said this. If you have 5this post, could
you help me find it so we can put this to bed?

That is not my intent.

The charge path is set after any initial wheel.
