A unit of chariots recoils and follows up against a unit of Roman legionaries.
Next bound, another unit of legionaries charges through, replacing the recoiled
unit in combat against the chariots. Which of the following is true:
(1) The chariot horses get to count as fighting because they have forward
momentum;
(2) The chariot horses do not get to count as fighting because they do not count
as following up against the replacing unit.>>

The answer is (1). The horses count if the chariot is following up, it does
not matter in this case whether they are also counting the follow up tactical
factor or not.
