You know I noticed that after I had posted the rule and reread it. We'll fix it
next time.

We have posted clarifications to the rules in the files section of
this egroup and on our website: www.fourhorsemenenterprises.com

The Warrior rules as written consist of the printed rulebook and this
clarification sheet. This one is dated 24 Feb 2002 and if
superceded, that supercession will be announced here.

Check out those Huns...

Jon

Jon,

Just a nitpick, but on your 12.42 fix, I think "(not shoot)" and 8.52 as worded
are a good fix EXCEPT bolt shooters on carts that can shoot all around. These
are the RARE exception to being able to only shoot across the front face. The
rules might confuse someone as to how a LBS on a cart might work.

Don

Couple of questions which lead to some ideas for how to handle the
"clarifications":

1. How are people (especially non egroup users) supposed to know when the
clarifications are updated?

2. Will rule books be sold in stores? If so, how will someone who buys a
copy of the rules know about the clarifications?

3. Will the clarifications be sold with the rules at any time? or Do you
expect people to just sign up on the egroups group to download the
clarifications?

4. How are people with outdated software to look at or download the file?

The idea I am leading to is that maybe you could make the rules
clarifications its own section, Chapter 19. That way when new books are
sold, the latest chapter #19 is there with the latest clarifications.

Also, for someone who owns a set of rules, they could just change out their
chapter 19, since it's not that hard with spiral bound books.

You could also keep an email or mailing list of those who purchase your
books (those sold in stores would have to email you or write in). Then send
out leaflets announcing when Chapter 19 is updated. You would also be able
to send out leaflets when new lists or other rules come out (ie Seige
Warrior). Of course those with listed email address would only get emails
on new items (save the forests).

***
The scenario I see is:
Bob Adababyitsaboy, is at a con. He sees Military Miniatures selling a new
Warrior game rules set and decides to buy it. As he reads it, he sees that
Chapter 19 is rules clarifications dated 2/24/02, and should he want to be
kept abreast of changes, he should write FHE. He does and finds out that
the latest Chapter 19 revision is now dated 1/15/03.

Bob contacts FHE and obtains the revision. He is also logged into an FHE
database and on the next email, finds that Siege Warrior is available along
with 6 army list books.

When he signs up for the Twistercon Tournament of that year, he will be
abreast of the latest rules and clarifications. -Go Bob

Just some thoughts

<< 1. How are people (especially non egroup users) supposed to know when the

The inside of the rulebook gives all of our websites. They are just going to
have to shuffle down to the nearest internet coffee shop and sign on...

<<2. Will rule books be sold in stores? If so, how will someone who buys a
copy of the rules know about the clarifications?>>

Yes. See above.

<<3. Will the clarifications be sold with the rules at any time? or Do you

clarifications?>>

No, but they will be incorporated into any second printing, but that won't
happen unless we sell all the ones we made. No, they can go to
www.fourhorsemenenterprises.com - no 'sign-up necessary.

<<4. How are people with outdated software to look at or download the file?>>

They can rub two sticks together and send us smoke signals. Same goes for
Mac users.

We are not doing anything differently than the industry standard for getting
rules clarfications out. In fact, since you can get them on TWO websites, we
are a little better than most.

Besides, none of the clarifications is a rule-breaker. Just tidying things
up.

Pat, I acnnot wait to meet you in person. You must be one hell of an
interesting cat.

Jon

Yes, Scott. That was a well-intended bust on mac users.

Sheesh....

Uh, Jon, it's in Word format. Macs can run MS Word.

And there are plenty of browsers available that render HTML.

So readability is not a problem.

The updated rules clarifications have bee posted both here and on the
FHE website. This clarifiction sheet is dated 10 April. The Warrior
rules as written (RAW) consist of the rulebook and this sheet. No
other rules clarifications/errata or FAQ has been approved by FHE at
this time.

In the clarifications sheet those items that are additions from the
last update (dated 24 February) are underlined.

This sheet will be the one in effect at Cold Wars and Call to Arms,
meaning we will not be posting another until after 5 May at the
earliest, if an update becomes necessary at all.

Roll up and win

to the files section. The are dated 1 July.

I am going on vacation for a couple weeks so please be patient with
my responses to questions.

Fellow Warriors

I have just placed the updated clarifications in the files section of the
Warrior Rules yahoo group.

This supercedes all previous clarifications.

It will also be available on our website, as will all the list errata which
is now separate by list book and not contained in the clarifications.

The Warrior rules as written consist of the Warrior rule book and this 3 page
clarification sheet dated 20 January 2003.
As always, when in doubt, read the rule literally. If still in doubt, roll a
die and ask me later.

Sorry if some of you got multiple mails about this, but I wanted to make sure
you knew.
Jon

I am working on the clarifications (fixing 4.52 marches as advances, orbs,
stuff like that...). I want to have it out soon so it can be in place for
Historicon well before the event.

Please send me anything you don't think I have or am remembering if you have
an issue you want addressed. Send even if you have doubts if I have the
issue already just to be sure.

Jon
