A couple of odd questions...

Is there a theme for Warrior at Cold Wars? Themes are listed for DBA and DBM,
but not for Warrior.

If there is a theme, what is it? What armies are considered within the theme?

If there is a theme, are there any special prizes, tournaments, awards, etc. for
it?

Thanks,

Please relook at the nasamw site for theme details. The Cold Wars
theme is in Fast Warrior only. Armies are listed.

Because Saturday is doubles day, I've always hesitated to mandate a
theme on Friday (the Mini) since that usually results in a couple of
players not playing, therefore an Open singles environment is there
since anybody can play. The one exception was a couple of years ago
where we did the Mini Theme Campaign tourney which was a huge
success. I'll probably revisit that at some point. The one time we
did it, we did it ala Crusades. I'd like to keep it tied into the
existing thematic structure at Cold Wars for DBM and FW. But for
example, next year it's only 14 armies ("The Burma Road") and to be
honest, I'm not sure how excited people would be trying to run those
armies at 1200 points. The same applies the following year.
There's always been grumbling about playing a late medieval list at
1200 points. I seem to be the only one here who enjoys playing
Burgundian Ordonnance at 1200 points:)Smile:)

The NASAMW site lists the Fast Warrior event as an open format.

Also, will the 1200 pt Friday 15 mm event use a 6 foot by 4 foot table?

Thanks.

Below is all the information for Warrior at Cold Wars on the NASAMW site:

------------------------------
Warrior at Cold Wars
POC for all Warrior and Fast Warrior events is: Scott Holder

Friday: Warrior 1200 Pt Mini Open 15/25mm
12:00 PM
4:00 PM
8:00 PM
3 Hour rounds.

Saturday: Warrior 2000 Pt Doubles 15/25mm
9:00 AM
2:00 PM
7:00 PM
4 Hour rounds.
Sunday: Finals as needed at 9:00 AM.

Sunday: 9:00AM, Fast Warrior 15mm Open format, 1.25 hour rounds.

So the theme, which I'm guessing is the same as the DBA/DBM theme
(Persians, Greeks and Alexander) is only in the 15mm Fast Warrior tournament
on Sunday?

Go to the nasamw site, scroll down, click on "Future Cold Wars &
Historicon Theme Events" and wah lah, follow the links. I've
notified Jeff Zorn to make a change on the tourney page saying the
FW tourney is Themed, not Open.

Tables will be the same both days, so Mini and Doubles play on 8x5
in 25mm, 6x4 in 15mm.

Wow. That'll be an interesting set of armies for the 15mm Mini guys, is
my guess. (And the usual crush in the doubles, no surprise there).

Okay I found it. Thanks.

Sadly thoughk, since I only have 25,, figures, and EVERY historical theme
event at Cold Wars for every ruleset is in 15mm, I won't worry about it
until Historicon. :)

You shouldn't let that stop you from playing Sunday morning.
Somebody can get you a 15mm army. Cmon, you'll have fun.
