Unfortunately, I have to admit that empirical evidence suggests that I'm an
easier match than Jon.

I can claim one Cold Wars Team victory way back in 7th, when partnered with Dave
Stier (we played Tibetans). But I think Dave would be a threat to win Cold Wars
even if partnered with a potted plant.

Bill Chamis and I made the finals at Cold Wars three or four years ago, to lose
to Dave Markowitz and Todd Kaeser in a memorable and really fun game (Scots
spear passing a waver test to charge and overrun Knights of Saint John
bombards); Bill and I had beaten them in an earlier round, but lost the
rematch.

The previous year in the NICT my only loss (with Serbians) was to eventual
champion Dave Markowitz (100 YWE).

The rest of my performances at Lancaster have been entirely forgettable, so I
suspect Jon has rather a better tournament record than I have. And Jon and Mike
Turner (Medieval Spanish), beat me and Bill Chamis (Later Paleologan Byzantine)
in the only head to head matchup Jon and I have been involved in.

Yes, but Mark, as the author of the Warrior "strategikon" all us
wannabees and also-rans (and didn't-quite-rans even) will cut you some
slack!
