Yes, but only if they are recovered, NOT automatically. It simply means that
they do not first have to move through the shaken step to disordered, but
does not change what has to happen to recover them from broken.

You have the rule correct. But I wouldn't build a plan on that. My plan
would have the Irr A HC not routing.... And 'relying' on that MI not shaking is
a bad recovery plan. I'd suggest single element generals instead.

YOU'D have to make the HTW unsteady - don't think the Spanish would
volunteer. And the impetuous LTS would be impetuous close and charging, so that
would
cancel the -2 while you took the impetuous charge at a halt. If you're
impetuous also, it is an even game as well. And I think those Illyrians have
another weapon up their sleeve.....

I was sitting in the can last night and found two very interesting rules that I
was hitherto unaware of. Hopefully I'm not reading these out of context, so
please correct me if I'm wrong.
The first is that a body of all Irreg A that rout, but have not been shaken,
revert to a disordered block. pg 27
This is key for Normans as now if the HC are routed on contact, they will revert
to a disordered instead of shaken block once intercepted. If I am absolutely
understanding this rule, I can (theoretically) launch the HC through gaps in the
MI, have them rout passed the (non-shaking) MI then halt on their own and
recover to disorder block. Of course this assumes I don't fail the MI's waver
test :)
The second is that unsteady HTW or P or impetouos LTS receive -2 when facing
non-impetouuos Pike or LTS. pg 69
This give some glimmer of hope for hoplites when facing Spanish or Illyrians.
Now if I could just convince all of you to run Spanish and Illyrians :)

All you say is so true. I will not plan to roll any wavers for HC routing if
possible. the nice thing about 2E IrgA HC is that they tend to pursue until
exhaustion or something makes them detonate in place. Just the routing friend
would be enough unease to cause me to fail the waver :)
As for the LTS, yes I see that now. Can't I get some firepots or emplaced
stakes for the hoplites :)
Still, good information to know

Boyd, Just use the flaming pigs. When the enemy moogs come into range of your
helpless hoplites, "Release the PIGS OF WAR" and that will disorder the poor
fools! :)
