"List rules", if applicable, will be used to cover the rare times when
"smoothing out" just seems to not capture the historical flavor of an army.
And list rules will cover those items that simply cannot be covered in a set
of rules like Warrior. Therefore, no "stirrup rule" (which I've argued as
specious in the first place). >>
Hi;
Seems like more than just a "bigger stirrup". We played it as a house rule
a few times. Was a major "rolaid minute" for someone who had carefully
manuvered onto someone's right side to get that unshielded bonus and was then
shown the Asgard figure with the shield to the right.
I just thought it was a bit of extra flavor for the Chinese. And rather
than being a limited use item it seems to have been fairly widely used in
Tang, Han, and earlier Chinese armies. It just seemed to be an irritant that
I had the figure but couldn't use the special flavor of it.
Anyway- I'm continuing to look for refferances on this. I was told
recently that the large clay figures that toured the US were partially
equipped with shields on the right. I missed them when they were in the Los
Angeles area, so maybe I can find pictures online.
Everyone has a pet peeve or 2, this is one of mine.
