Dear Asif and list,
Is any subject ever truly dead?
In the main, I agree with Mark--and Asif, you left out a very
important category of Warrior armies, one that both Mark and I love to
play--even in tournaments--the big soft fluffy pillow armies. That is
to say, armies that do not have a "killer" troop type that can rout
things at contact, and rely on gradual degradation of enemy forces by
fatigue and perhaps bowfire.
This is a very historical way to fight, yes? And, with the best
will in the world, many opponents can avoid defeat just not by being
quick. This is in NO way an attack on any opponents of mine, past or
future--it's a limitation of several armies I like and I know full well
what I'm getting into when I take them. But I tend to hate anything
that slows the game--despite a previous post where I whined that I had
just finished painting my wagon laager!
The best of the season to all, and Asif, we really have to have a game!
Yours,
Chris Cameron
