As an interested outsider, i think that this articulates a signifigant
problem. There does seem to be a prevailing philosophy of ' There may be some
concerns that a large proportion of players will find this section very
difficult to understand. Not our problem, they will just have to learn.'
That sort of presentation does run the risk of driving away many
potentially interested players.

I'm sorry, perhaps I missspoke.

What the colonel meant to say was: I am aware that some players of 7th have not
fought Transport elements before, for whatever reason. But that is not
sufficient reason to write an entirely new rule.

I am not aware that fighting versus transport is 'difficult'. Is there a
problem I am not aware of?

Greetings All
I wanted to follow up on a great Historicon. I have heard a lot of people
writing off the warrior rules etc, but they are more clear and secondly, in 9
battles I only had one major disagreement on the rules, where Scott put me
right, and I had left my ruleset at home. So the players and the game are
flexible enough that someone can play 9 games without the rule set and play
belivebly and well. I think this ruleset is very positive, and like every
other ruleset, can be subverted by cheats, however the rules are clear and
the game is very playable.
Thanks to all my opponents at Historicon for a great, relatively disagreement
free weekend. And people who look at discussions on this e-group as
indications of poor sportsmanship, should look at the tournaments and
conevntions for a fun gaming set.

Hello All,
Strangely enough, I find myself agreeing with my
friend Robert! Each and every Warrior Game I had at
Historicon was very enjoyable! I applaud Jon for his
efforts to organize and his attempts to clarify the
rules set I have come to love over the years! My
theory is that most of the whiners have left Warrior
(7th ed.) and moved over to other sets. If you find
this set too much of a challenge, it's a free country,
do something else.
On another note, I sat near Robert and one of his
rounds and I noticed that he "really" was having a
good time crushing his opponent!

Kelly,

Your comment about leaving is obvious and doesn't need to be expresed. As I
understand this, part of the genesis of FHM and Warrior as opposed to 7th was
to bring more folks back into the fold and grow the rule set, not to have it
die with those of us who currently play it and enjoy it enough not to leave.

Chris

Chris,
What are you talking about!? Who said anything
about leaving!!!?? I have absolutely no clue as to
where this came from! How did you come to this
conclusion? I've not written any email that would
suggest that! Get your facts straight!

I agree,as much as it pains me, with Kelly to the point that the rules are
much more organized and comprehensive than in the past. Jon has done
tremendous work and brought be back from the depths of DBM. Oh and Kelly I
have CRUSHED YOU the last two times.

Mark The Mighty Conqueror,

. . . And they were both "Spankings" that shall
not be forgotten for centuries to come in the great
history of "Warrior!"
