Very true. Just like in DBM at 400 pts, we are using larger armies than
the original system intended, and virtually all upgrades are more than cost
effective. (ie at 1000 pts if you had a choice of C or D troops, you might
actually consider D).
One reason I finally gave up on my beloved Vanetians (the other being that
in the first round of every tourney I either faced English or Aztecs), was
that half a dozen times duting each game someone would come along , and
audibly gasp, and say ' You mean the knights don't wedge?' (Kinda in the tone
of 'You mean you were BORN with one eye in the middle of your forehead?')
And I would reply,'No'................- sigh -..............'the knights
don't wedge'.
List specific rules are, in theory, an excellent idea. But, in the words
of Homer Simpson, 'In theory, Communism works.' Rules that make one army's
units of the same type 50% better than another's, at no cost, can cause
problems. Been there.
