Greetings,
I'm surprised, confused, and somewhat disappointed.
I open my digest to acquire another small increase in my
understanding of Warrior, and I read a personal attack by
the moderator.
Then after someone responds a little warmly - but not as
warmly as the original attack - the moderator orders: "Stop
this thread or you'll be banned from the group".
What on Earth is this? It does seem that the 'Western
world' is (despite its tradition of fairness and democracy)
increasingly accepting of tyranny these days - but are
there not others here who find this distasteful?
Jon, getting angry is part of the whole Game, but,
moderator or not, I do not think this forum the place for
you to express it. Nor I think, would you upon reflection.
This person you have now inroduced us to may be as you
describe him, but your words are themselves bigoted, as I'm
sure you would agree in a moment of calm; and your
willingness to use your 'power' so abruptly is rather
lacking in consideration in my opinion.
You began the thread on a public forum; surely you must
'allow' others to respond - unless they seriously disrupt
this forum, which I haven't seen yet by any means.
Yours, Francis

Francis, sorry to disagree with you, but I do not find it distasteful.
What I receive as the reader of those emails is that there is something going
on behind the scenes. A quick and kurt response by the moderator may have
been necessary to keep this issue from becoming a boiling point, it seems
John thought this to be the case.
With regards to the individual, he is entitled to his opinion (as we all
are). But thankfully today's society has evolved to find opinions of bigotry
to be socially intolerable. Furthermore, if his bigotry and other behavior
is driving opponents away from the game, then banning is a definite
consideration. I believe more opponents is better than fewer opponents.
Jon,
I apologize for making this subject go on when I see you want it to end. But
I feel I could not keep silent on this issue.
