Actually, oligarchy might better de defined as 'rule by the informed'. Or
at least by the non-ignorant. It suggests a fairly large class of citizenry,
as in Renaissance Venice.
For example, Australia has the absolutely horrid idea of compulsory
voting, with a fine if you don't vote. Talk about the lowest common
denominator - great idea, if you want to see pols appeal solely to the stupid.
The press always decries the low voter turnouts in America, like it was a
bad thing. I say Right On!! I'm not sure how compelling more lazy and stupid
voters to cast an uninformed ballot would create a better government.

I passed on the 'points inflation' argument, since it would be curmudgeonly
to point out that it was caused by the fact that tournament 'gunners' like
super troops, and dont like the problems of generalship like having open
flanks to contend with. That silly 'points value' thing gets in the way of
your wedging SHK and triple armed Reg B's if you use less points. Which is
one reason Fast warrior is cool. In my dotage, one rant every couple of weeks
is about all I can manage.
