I thought that disorded affected shield and armor both. Boy, have I been playing
this wrong.

Ed - disorder does not affect shielded status (the shield of the front
rank is always counted), unlike armour class.

"9.41 Hand-To-Hand Weapon Factors
Factors vary with weapons used and target type. If the target body's ranks
differ in type, count it as having the type and shields of
the element in contact if steady, otherwise the type of that immediately behind
if worse, but the shields of that in contact."
And yes, this like everything else is being reviewed to see if wording might be
improved.

one suggestion:
"count it as having the armor class and shields of
the element in contact if steady, otherwise the armor class of that immediately
behind if worse and the shields, or shieldless factor if shieldless, of that in
contact"

Thanks for the suggestion, Ed. But note that anywhere I am eliminating a
sentence with multiple clauses, I am replacing it with something like shorter
sentences or a bulleted list, not a similar sentence construct.

Don't feel bad Ewan, I have only been playing this game for 20 years, and
still miss some nuances.
