Okay, there have been a few interesting snippets posted about this
army, and it has picqued my interest. So I put together a list to
mostly use my HYWE/WotR figures. Should make an interesting
conversation piece anyway.
This army can be absolutely huge. I first came up with a 2000-pt
version with 29 units and practically everything one would want
except elephants! A horde of SHK units, a good number of longbows,
Swiss pikes, handgunners and artillery!
So I gave it a go for 1600 points and here is what I came up with.
Feudal Warrior List #36
Early Burgundian, Late Period 1420 to 1471
17 units @ 1,600 points
1x CnC/Coustilliers 2E Irr B/C SHK/HC L,Sh (PA) @ 175
1x Sub/Coustilliers 2E Irr B/D SHK/HC L,Sh (PA) @ 112
4x Men-at-Arms/Coustilliers 2E Irr B/D SHK/HC L,Sh @ 100
1x Mtd Xbow 2E Irr C HC CB @ 61
2x Swiss Mercs 8E Reg B (2)LHI/(6)LMI (6)P/(2)2HCT @ 162
6x Bowmen 4E Reg D LHI LB @ 74
1x Low Countries 4E Reg D LI CB @ 34
1x Light Guns 2E Reg C Art 3-crew (2-oxen) @ 50
It is a bit short on lights but there is plenty of firepower to
control space, like many armies of this period.
Believe it or not, I do not really like the HC back-rankers. It is
not the D morale class that bugs me but the fact these do not
dismount well, being irregs to boot.
However, in an army with 16E of Swiss I figure to let the kinniggits
stay on the horses period.
Me personally, I have no clue how to use the Swiss alongside the
longbows and knights. But it must be a good combination if one can
figure out the mechanics of how to make it work.
It is probably a bit fragile with all the D's. But if they are making
many wavers I am probably losing anyway 0 and heck I just need that
die that rolls 1/4/5 where D is as good as A.
