Subject: Early Imperial Romans - and others
Hi,
I wonder if you can help me.
I and my friends have been living in the dark ages for years - using WRG 2nd &
3rd edition rules and lists!
I recently obtained a copy of the WRG 7th edition rules plus the 3 books of
lists.
From initial reading, it is clear that book 3 has a number of errors and
omissions but, I believe, WRG never updated these or printed an errata sheet -
an example being list 150 - Mauryan and Post-Mauryan Indian 322BC - 410AD, where
the chariots are missing but the escort LI are there!
Also, WRG never got around to issuing the next book of lists to include the
Roman Empire.
I have a number of armies that I am trying to rebuild to these lists:
Skythian
Early Greek Hoplite
Late Greek Hoplite
Early Achamaenid Persian
Late Achamaenid Persian
Macedonian Alexandrian/Imperial
Seleucid - early and late
Thracian - early and late
Gallic - circa Telamon and circa Ceasar
Galatian
Celtic British
Parthian
Republican Roman - Telamon
Republican Roman - Marian/Ceasarian
Early Imperial Roman - mid-1st century AD
Early German
Spanish - 2nd/1st centuries BC
Indian - Porus
Indian - Mauryan
Lydian - 7th/6th centuries BC
Most of these seem to be adequately covered in the lists, but I am sure that,
for those in book 3 there are more errors/omissions than the example I gave
above.
Also, there are no lists for the Imperial Romans. I could try to use the DBM
listing, but am not sure that this would work out.
Would you be able to direct me to somewhere/someone who might be able to help -
especially with the Imperial Romans?
For the Indians, I am assuming that the correct number of chariots, exGenerals,
is 8.
I look forward to any help you may be able to give me.
Regards
Colin Wren
