No body in contact can ever be shot in prep shooting.

The question is on eligible targets for prep shooting.

Played a game of FW last night and a disagreement came up over who were
eligible targets for prep shooting.

1) The situation was that two, two stand units of cav charged each other
in column, resulting in one begin pushed back.

2) A second unit of bow moved to face the flank of the cav column that
was pushed back.


Are the cav in the second rank eligible targets in prep shooting by this
unit of bow on their flank? 8.83 talks of support shooting and 8.5 does
not specifically address bodies in contact.

In FAQ (v1.01) 8.0, it is not specified if it deals with both prep and
support, or only support shooting.

So to recap:

1) Is an element, not adding to the combat, in a second or farther back
rank of a bodie in contact an eligible target for prep shooting by a unit
facing its flank?

2) Is an element, for example of LTS, in the second rank that is adding
to the combat an eligible target for prep shooting by a unit facing its
flank?
