Alex and I are planning to play Mongols in 15mm at Cold Wars next year, and I'm
going to need to add some figures to my existing Post Mongol Russian army to
morph it into an appropriate Mongol army. Virtually all the figures I have in
15mm are Essex.

I could order direct from Essex in the UK, but (a) their website sucks, and (b)
I'd rather not pay overseas shipping. Anyone know of a North American
distributor who handles Essex and handles online orders in a reasonable
fashion?

Mark,
Go to this website:
http://speartorifle.com/
These guys "Wargames" will get you squared away ASAP, I received
Essex from them in about a week to 10 days. I called rather than e-
mailing, but the site is very helpful.

Yo
I must agree they are quick and good. The only unfortunate thing is that they
don't have an online order process. I think you still have to send in the money.
The fastest I ever got something from them was 5days.

Howdy,

And the call is toll free. If they aren't terribly busy they'll even pull
bags for you and given you a general idea of what's in them, what the figs
look like.

I've a fair amount of 15mm essex that might work and
my 25mm Hsung-Nu army of hincies no longer works so
that could be Mongols. In fact I'm interested in
posting a couple of armies for sale and would like to
know what the protocol is for doing same on this
website.

Ditto what everybody else says, Mark. These are the guys to call. They
have always been very attentive and helpful, going back to the days the
business was managed by the legendary Johnson Hood. I, too, am a real
enthusiast for Essex figures, particularly the cav. In fact, their only
figs that are a bit disappointing, oddly enough, are their hoplites.

Well Mark, now that we have all told you how to get your fig's, 2000
points of Mongols?? Plan on also painting dismounts for your cavalry
I imagine? This will solve the long discussion on Terrain, you can
simply pick up the piece of offending enemy terrain and discard it!

OMFG! Where have you been the last 20 years. Essex has been around for years
hear in the USA in Triadelphia, West Virginia. I'm sure you've heard of their
former owner, Johnson Hood? Johnson is no longer in the hobby but the business
still is. I'm surprised that anyone in Nasamw as long as you have been has never
heard of "Wargames." Heck, they used to be the sponsor for our Nict tee shirts
back in the '90's and before that. . .

They still sponsor prizes for NASAMW. There's quite an extensive list on
the NASAMW site promoting our sponsors.
