anyone playing Warrior. It is just a @#$%ing question, with no motivation,
other than what is actually stated!

That said ...

I was wondering what the reasoning was behind allowing an evade move the
latitude to deviate, etc ... but a rally back must be directly to the rear?

I do not per-say disagree with it, I just wonder why it is, how it is. I have
heard the thought expressed that it gives the amscray a good bit of
flexibility, but does not give the organized reformation the same benefit.

As it is a 'specific place' perhaps you could allow a unit to return to its
original position, plus or minus the roll. This would clean the result of
recall when you wheel or conform in your charge.

Just a thought ...

Since you meant 'exactly' what you said above, I cannot answer your question,
since there is no 'rally back move' in Warrior. ~wink~ ~wink~ ~wink~

Let's assume you meant recall. Recalls are moves that reflect a return,
called for by the local unit commander on his initiative, by an exposed unit to
its original position or at least a position of less exposure roughly where the
battleline had been. In most but not all instances this would have to include
a gathering of the troops back into an ordered formation. Since it isn't all
instances, Warrior separates recall from rally where 7th does not.

Therefore, there is a specific 'place' the recalling unit is returning to.

In an evade move the body of troops is just trying to avoid contact. It can
do this by going 'back' to where it was (directly to the rear) or as far from
the charge as possible (directly away from the charge). Often these locations
are one in the same.
