To survive missile fire, you must up armor the front rank, and I also uparmor
a rank of 2HCT as well, then rely on speed to run down your opponents and get
into contact. If you are lucky, your opponent will only get one shot in
before contact.

Also, with large units, it is worth while to buy a general for each pike
block. This gives you one element of "never uneasy" A's to help with the morale
checks.

I have enjoyed considerably the discussions lately, and I want to
thank everyone for their input. Most of you have very different
ideas on running the same army, and this is, of course, one of the
attractions of Warrior.

My question is in the Swiss list. Now on the surface with all the
list rules and abilities, it seems that a guy would have to be a fool
not to run the Swiss. And of all game systems, I think this list
most accurately portrays their basic tactical doctrine. yet I can't
get the numbers to make them survive mass shooting. Has anyone else
run of worked out the survivability of these RgB LMI P/2HCT units?
It just looks so powerful, yet when you start shooting them, they
quickly begin to waver.

Boyd,
I wonder myself, when contemporary Warrior Lists get Shieldless EHI. I
would love to see something like a LEHI troop class for the Swiss but that is an
old argument. Luckily for those of us who won't play that army, it is very
vulnerable to bows and in particular to the S, SS, LB armies. Imagine the
beating they would receive against the Most disciplined and well armed (more so
than Late Romans) Inca's! Why fight them? Why not skirmish in front of them and
shoot them to pieces until they become tired, disordered, or waiver? Even as LHI
they are deficient. The answer is, if your going to play them, do so as an
allied contingent and screen, screen, screen!

Boyd,

You could look at the Late Period Medieval German
League List. There are options to upgrade the EHK to
SHK, you can get 16E of Swiss Pike and 6E of Swiss
Handgunners, and the rest of the German Troops should
be able to upgrade to "C" morale. And the nice thing
is, any of the "german" Figs can be used for about 10+
other lists.

I agree with Todd, that's not a bad list. Then there's the Feudal German. I'd
rather have HK or SHK, EHK is not really worth the points. Good support troops
in both.
