4E wide with a back rank of 2E is permitted to Irregs.

Jon,

3Ex3E reg / irreg unit follows up in combat with room to expand 1E to one
flank. Are they allowed to do so as they would end up in 4Ex2E ranks
that is forbiden to both reg and irreg formations?

As the rules on permitted formations are currently written, they seem to
preclude most formations from expanding after combat as it would put you
in a forbidden formation.

This was discussed before, but have not seen if it has been addressed
yet.
