Well, I guess the subject says it all...
Could anyone take pity on my poor blighted soul and provide
any news on the progress of fantasy warrior?
Apologies if there has already been a recent enquiry on the
matter.
Thanks!

Corey
We are currently playtesting Fantasy Warrior playtest draft 2.0 and I am working
on 2.1. It is happening simultaneously with our playtest of Campaign Warrior -
we have a nine player CW campaign going (turn 8 is due this week...) and the
armies are all FanWar armies, so when battles are caused they are FanWar games
and we take notes on the results.
Three MAJOR things remain with FanWar -
1. We have to get the Undead to work right, along with all the special
abilities such troops as demons have, etc.
2. We have to get flying right.
3. We have to finish all 60 lists and balance them.
That is about a year's worth of work. I am in no hurry and we are not going to
publish until we have it right. This game is VERY popular with its new converts
since you can use ANY figure from ANY manufacturer to play, there are wayyyy
more lists to choose from and you can use it to recruit Warrior players and vice
versa. I want to make sure we put out a good product, so we are taking our
time.
If you'd like to be a playtester (or think you want to be) let me know and I'll
send you our playtesters greeting and you can see if that deal is right for you.
Jon

Well, I have no idea what this means (who needs to be removed from what
list?), but I know if it is directed 'at' anyone, it must be the moderator.
If someone needs to be removed from thislist, you can do that very easily by
yourself - you don't need me. However, if you are having trouble, have each
person who wants to be removed write me and I'll do it.
If I have misinterpreted, please clarify for me and I'll help as best i can.

Here is the standard spiel on being a playtester:
Fantasy Warrior Playtest Group Requirements
1. Have a solid foundation in the Warrior rules system.
2. Not release playtest rules and list drafts outside the playtest group.
3. Be a member of the FantasyWarrior yahoo group and discuss all rules
mechanics and list issues there.
4. Post at least one playtest report on a Fantasy Warrior game every 1-2
weeks - more often or more reports being desirable.
Playtest report form is in the files section of the yahoo group, as are
several examples of past reports.
As long as you meet the above, you'll get each updated version of the
playtest rules. These will be sent to your private email address as the
rules will not be made public on the group.
Games can be from 750-2000 points on a side.
Games can be 'fast' if desired. Use the following structure for fast FanWar
games:
Use Warrior rule 18.0.
750 points per side.
CINC in unit of at least 2E, ONE Mage separate leader. No other generals,
heroes or mages.
All minimums met.
No artillery.
One command.
What we DO need:
1. Find broken mechanics if they exist.
2. Find unbalanced list rules if they exist.
What we DO NOT need
1. Background fiction.
2. Draft lists. We will offer draft list writing privileges on a case by
case basis to proven playtesters.
3. Commentary on rules you have not used in an actually played game.
