My son and I have been playing quite a bit of Fantasy Warrior this Fall, and
while he loves the game he's a bit disappointed that there have been no
provisions for flying troop types. With some spare time over the holidays, I've
written up some proposed rules governing fliers in Fantasy Warrior. These have
been uploaded to the "X Rules" folder in the group "Files" section, in both
Word and plain text format. Look for either of these files:
fw_flier.doc
fw_flier.txt
Enjoy,

Mark
I have scanned through the fanwar x-flier rule you posted. It is great work!
There is stuff I will probably use in there, but there are also a couple things
I know we will be doing that are different:
-there will only be three levels: ground (normal), low (NOE) and high (out of
missile and spell range).
-it will probably be that if both players have fliers, they will not be able to
leave the high level until one side has none any more. both sides with fliers
is already a minigame. if we have both sides with fliers AND both sides
interacting with each other's fliers at both air levels and the ground, we will
probably have way too much of a mini-game.
-fliers will start out costing double the normal troop cost before flight. my
playtest philosophy is to start out expensive and see who takes the troop and
why... its also very simple.
i will get to this when I can, please feel free to keep the material coming,
especially your in-game experiences.
Jon
