FHE Works in Progress
March 18, 2004

Warrior – I have begun work on the reprint of the rulebook. Due to our
inventory, one way or another I have to have this done in six months or less. I
may get it done in less, so who knows....lol This is new info, as we hadn’t
planned on moving that fast until very recently. This is now job one for me,
eclipsing even Warrior Battles, parts of which will get done simultaneously, but
not completed until after the reprint is at the printers. The new rulebook
will be perfect bound (like a normal book) with heavier slicker pages because
of our increased production standards and because we plan to distribute it to a
larger ‘audience’ of retailers. We want it to look professional and we want
it to fit in store displays. We want it to be recognizable when stored ‘edge
on’. If you like three-hole punch or spiral bound, Kinko’s will do that for
you. You’ll be able to turn in your old rulebook for some deal, most likely
$5 off and free shipping if you send your rulebook to us and buy your new one
from us.
What will be in it?
1. The clarifications will be ‘integrated’ and the last of the ‘old
language
’ will be removed.
2. Designer’s notes, historical notes and examples will be set out in their
own ‘boxes’. Examples will make use of Charlie Randow’s element images.
There will be more examples.
3. Section 15.0 will become a one-stop rule for all terrain effects and
rules. Scenario rules will be placed in an expanded 14.0. Campaigns will be
handled by Campaign Warrior. The terrain rule will include a chart for terrain
effects and what constitutes ‘in terrain’.
4. The Fast Warrior lists will be fixed to match the list books more
closely, especially in the area of list rules. The opponents section will be
more
complete.
5. We plan four color pages of Warrior armies in action.
6. Section 14.0 will include more competition format options.
7. The game will include 30mm and 10mm scales, in addition to 25mm, 15mm and
6mm.

Warrior Battles – Our new intro game is in playtesting. It will be fully
compatible with the Fast Warrior armies in the reprint and will contain two
color
cardboard cut out armies so new players can learn right away while they are
collecting their first army. It will be designed to be much faster and simpler
than Warrior, while preserving enough basics to permit a stepping-stone
learning approach.

Oreintal Warrior – Under construction as we speak with a planned Fall In 2004
release date.

Classical Warrior – Winter 2004/Spring 2005

Campaign Warrior – We have two solid playtest groups. The rules appear to be
in great shape, I just need to get to this after Warrior 2d Printing (W2P)
and Warrior Battles (WB) – it needs primarily the three (maybe four) sample
campaigns.

Fantasy Warrior – Rules (minus flyers and magic items) have pretty much
settled. We need to play and balance more of the planned 60 lists. I will keep
this warm until Scott is done with list books and I am done with W2P/WB and then
this will be the priority.

Siege Warrior and Fleet Warrior – In line after all of the above.

Renaissance Warrior – In line behind Siege/Fleet.

Master Army List Book – Sometime well after all the seven books are done we’
ll do a single 8.5x11 book that has them all….

Beyond all this…. Free additional lists, different list versions, x-rules,
SwordClash (our skirmish game), Scenario books, free additional Fantasy Warrior
lists…who knows what else? lol

Right now, the only thing with an actual date attached to it is:

Oriental Warrior: 12 November 2004 (Fall In)

So, no need to ask on what date anything else will be done, as we don't know
yet. :)

Jon
