This past weekend we had a 25mm tournament here held at the annual Fort Worth
Wars convention. It was a 1600pt list, Preset Terrain, 4 hour rounds.

We got a lot of lookers, many people that played previously. Chris and Greg met
many that were involved in previous tournies from years back.

25mm ROCKed for a tourney scale as there was not any other 25mm historicals
played. Greg Regets even ate some of his words about 25mm vs. 15mm (although I
still think he leans towards the "Little People")

Two Highlights I liked of our tourney were:
Our newest member Mike Russell (age 14) played his first tourney with the Feudal
English. Mike trained hard for this tourney and it paid off. He was no push
over and his valiant efforts let him finish above last place. ...and talk about
celebrating that first unit he broke....

Three Roman lists were entered. It was very entertaining seeing them March
across the field. Each were well built to handle the rigors of our 1 list
limitation. See below for their results.

There were many others highlights that some of the other members can comment on.

Here are the results of our tourney:
Chris Bump, Polybian Roman
Don Coon, MIR
Greg Regets, Selucid
Gilles Hudelot, Golden Horde
John Winkler, LIR
Mike Russell, Fuedal English
Patrick Byrnes, Yuan Mongol
Joe Pelfrey, Aztecs

Thanks to everyone who participated!

FYI - Twistercon (in Oklahoma City) is only 5 months away (usually the 2nd or
3rd weekend in March), GET THOSE ARMIES READY!!

We would like to invite you to a Warrior tournament at this years Fort Worth
Wars on Sept 25. The particulars of the Con itself are at the end of this
email.

The tournament will be 15mm 1600 points on 4' X 6' boards with one FHE approved
list allowed. There will be 3 3.5 hour rounds. Terrain will be selected by
each player. We will be using order cards. Every attempt will be made to avoid
pairing competitors from the same geographical area. Winners will be paired
with winners in subsequent rounds. Sign up is at 7:30 AM on Saturday Sept 25.
Round 1 will be from 8:00-11:30. Round 2 will be from 12:30-4:00 and round 3
will be from 5:00-8:30. There is no cost to enter other than that to get into
the Con itself.

As always if we get 6 NASAMW memebers, this will be a NICT qualifier, and if we
get 8 owners of the Warrior rukebook, we will have FHE prize support (gift
certificates via the 5th horseman program).

I will need a rough head count as soon as possible to let Jeff Lawrence know how
many tables we need.

I cannot, Don. As always, there is an event the weekend before FWW and an
event the weekend after here in KC. The timing could not be worse for me, as
even I cannot do three cons on consecutive weekends....lol I am sorry. I
suspect the same is true for many of us. I know that just about all of the
guys I play with are also attending both KC area events and probably also
cannot
justify a three-fer.

I totally understand. We are not burdened by the event before FWW, but
several of us do intend to make BW (I can not because of a blasted work
interference that takes me out of 2! consecutive weekends). I'd hoped a
couple of the KC diehards might try, but as I stated, I do understand.

Don,

That does not rule out Steve, Mike and myself. It's amazing that San
Antonio and Dallas events are so close together. Too bad you guys aren't in
sync.

Actually Kelly, I believe both are part of larger events, so one
would suppose people have very little say on the date.

Several of us down here are attending Fort Worth Wars. NEVER pass on
a chance to visit the DFW clubs, which is and always should be, the
single largest motivating factor in tournament selection. ;-)

Not sure about the event down here. I know I'm going.

Cool dude. I will count you now as maybe's. Yes the proximity of the SA
event definately hurts. FWW is the same time every year.

We are at 13 confirmed, 6 maybe, and 2 trying to get down from the NE area.

Yes and then there is BW on the first weekend in Oct. These three events
are always going to be right on top of each other. It would be nice if
there was some separation, but as Greg said, they are packaged on another
event and that makes the dates static.
