Folks,

I stumbled across this while in search of something else,
and while it may not be 100% accurate there's lots of info!
This site lists off figures, by company, period, scale,
nationality, conflict, etc etc and seems to have thousands
of listings. Okay, maybe the F&I wars weren't 19th century,
but I'd rather have too big a result set than too small...
Dive in and start digging!

http://www.miniaturesatlas.com/index.htm

Mark

PS Apologies if this is a well known source....

This site is great, but it does not list Gripping Beast. Further I have not
been able to find a Gripping Beast web site. Many of the vendors claim to no
longer sell Gripping Beast figs. Lots of links to Gripping Beast, but when I
select those I get a site is not operating page. Are these guys still in
business?

I have not plumbed this site to its depths. I meant it as a backup to the Holy
Grail, TMP's manufacturer's listing:

http://theminiaturespage.com/man/

Now, the location of Gripping Beast is left as an exercise for the sudent.

Thanks John,
This site also lists them but does not take me to a site or provide a
distributor. Does anyone know if they are still in business? I feel confident
that
I can find them if they are still operating a web site, but am now wondering
if that is the case.
Thanks, Chris

Follow your feelings (and the links), my young Padewan. They will take you
to 19th Century Miniatures, who make them in the USA. You have to find fan
sites in the UK for them across the pond.

Chris, I don't believe they are. I can't prove it, but when Brookhurst
stopped carrying them, I assumed they went out of business.

You guys should get out more. They are all over the WABlist. Brookhurst
also stopped carrying Foundry...

John, if you have heard of a place where Chris can get Gripping Beast, could
you please tell him and not leave it as a test for the student....

Jon, I did, in my previous post. I said 19th Century Miniatures, which can
be found by following the links on the page I cited.
Go to "G", then "Gripping Beast". They list a US dstributor as "19th Century
Miniatures." Click on that link, and it will take you to the website of Old
Glory 15's, with a link to the Gripping Beast line, which they now manufacture
under license in the US.
I was not being snotty. Well, maybe just a little.

John,
I've been to this site. I'm assuming that you have inside information,
because I cannot find any mention of GB figures at this site. Perhaps they have
not updated their webpage since they started manufacturing there, but darned if
I can find any mention of it. Did you just go to Gripping beast site and see
the 19th century miniatures link and make the logical connection or do you
have actual info that these guys carry the product? Because I followed this
route earlier today and at least at first glance it appears to be a dead end.

See previous testy response to Jon. TMP listing of 19th Century Miniatures
leads to Old Glory 15's. Home page of Old Glory 15's. Top right. Under the
soldier. To the left of Quality Castings.
If you followed from the TMP page I recommended...

Greetings

Try http://oldglory15s.com/ this lists them in the US at the moment.
They are still active in the UK albeit without their own website.

They are still going strong in the UK, they have just released an
absolutely superb range of Punic Wars Romans and Italians. They do not
have there own website (It's been under construction for ever), but
pictures of the ranges are on the London Gamers site --
www.londongamers.co.uk
You can also E-mail Gripping Beast at -- grippingbeast@...
They are one of the best manufacturers about at the moment.
