Ed

There is no 'line' formation in Warrior. Blocks may be 1 E deep.

Jon,

Pushed some FW this weekend and a question on droping back elements to
pass through a gap came up (6.53)

A line approached a gap between 2 woods. At first it was thought the
unit could drop back elements to charge through the gap. Reading the
rules on gaps--

6.53: Generally, a body may move through a gap as long as: it can fit
in its current formation.

The line would have had to change into a block to fit and the rules
seemed to say that only blocks and skirmish order formations are allowed
to drop back elements.

It was ruled that lines were not a legal formation that could drop
elements back to pass through gaps.

6.53 seems pretty clear on this. Are we right?

Ed

Thankyou,

reading through the rules again, 6.41 covers it very clearly. Paid more
attention to the pretty pictures than the text I guess.
