If you couldn't guess I am getting very into my 25mm EIR. I think
after much adjustment I have the list right where I want it for the
time being and I not only expect to play them in the theme but will
probably also give them a try in the open to get even more practice
with them especially against non-period opposition, and they actually
do not seem like a bad army to play as I have sufficiently deluded
myself!

I had still planned on most likely playing HYWE at the NICT. It is
what got me there, and the half-dozen or so games I have played with
them make them and Crusaders my most experienced Warrior/TOG armies
that do not have the word "Byzantine" somewhere in the title! Kyrie
Elaison! (I think that's the Byzantine battle cry if you believe Phil
Barker and Ian Heath, and it would be reasonable) If you are
wondering why I am not bringing Byzantines the answer is I have never
had a modicum of success with them (well once kind of but a long time
ago). I just love playing them even when losing repeatedly! Plus I do
not have them in 25mm anyway and do have a perfectly good HYWE army
in that scale that also like to play, even with all kinds of options
I have not tried out yet.

But I am actually considering, if I can get in a bit of exercise with
them first, playing EIR at the NICT.

It is a given barring miracles that I am not going to win the thing
anyway. There's at least a dozen or so players there that I am
certain even on my best day can beat my HYWE with pre-historic
Sumerians or any other impossible army you can think of. For real I
am sure this is true.

I'm not the '69 Mets I'm the '69 Senators. So I think (hope) I can at
least give my opponents a challenge and score a good few points off
them. This is my objective. If I can average even as much as 2 points
a game (some 1's some 3's, maybe beyond hope an actual 5) in the NICT
I would consider it a personal best feat. And if I play very well and
the breaks work out right maybe I will be able to do it.

So under those circumstances am I absolutely insane for even
considering using such a traditionally dog army as EIR in the NICT,
espcially when there might be a lot of players whose armies include a
design specific to deal with EIR this year (not that they do not
already have a way to handle HYWE)?

I presume in any event, if you are losing the NICT on the first day
and opt to slide over to the open that (a) there will be one in 25mm
and (b) you are allowed to change armies in doing so?
