Taking a break from painting, I've finally finished scanning in my master
reference sketches of Hoplite Shield Designs and posted them online at
http://transform.to/~mwbard/othero/hopliteshields.html. Anybody painting
hoplites should feel free to take a look and make free use of them.

The price of freedom is infernal vigilantes
"Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then,
that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom? Congress
shall have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every
other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an
American ... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of
either the federal or state governments, but where I trust in God it
will ever remain, in the hands of the People."- Tench Coxe, 1788.

Glad you asked!!
I am working on a Slingshot article on painting hoplites, which will be an
update of the article I have online at
http://www.deep-strike.com.previewyoursite.com/features/hoplites.htm. I'm
working on a more complete version to be posted with the hoplite shields.
Next question? :)
