Gents;
Geez, Louise, I have a serious dilemma, and I need some input
(motivation/guidance). It looks as if Jon is planning on doing a
15mm Dogs of War Warrior tourney this fall at Border Wars, and I
have identified the bestest DoW Warrior army in the world (well.....
that might be a little exaggerated). With some gentle coaching and
blocks of instruction over the next few months, I should get to a
point where I won't embarass myself. The dilemma is that I really
want to start painting my 25mm Warrior/DBx army (that I have already
purchased and have on hand) for the Call to Arms 25mm tourney next
spring, as well as other 25mm events.
I'm currently involved in my clubs (TAPS) army building tourney
using 15mm stuff, but this particular army (Alexander Imperial)
would not be a good DoW army....and the rub is, I don't have time to
paint them all. Geesh....thanks, guys....I feel much better
getting this off my chest. Oh, one other thing....I also realize I
can't really buy someone else's stuff and use them....it must be my
own work that I put on the tabletop. [I'm taking medication to
overcome this weakness, but I don't think it will help.]

Well, you know my opinion on what game system you should be putting your effort
into...lol
I am glad the fall Dogs of War thing is motivating you - it has really caught on
here as a good idea. You're not the only one who thinks he has found the
ultimate DoW army... I think there are at least 12 of us...
I don't know what army you are using in the TAPS army builder - is it anything
like your DoW army? I mean can that stuff be made for double duty or is there a
valid DoW army that can be made from the figs in your army builder force?

Dave,
I have a brilliant Idea. I'll sell back your Roman army that you sold
me(25mm, just thought I'd mention that since I own a Roman army of yours in both
scales!!!) (for a profit for me ofcourse ). Then you can play something in
the tourney. Oh yeah, you can BORROW my Romans that you painted if you like.
Then there's the Huns that you painted that I own. . . That Army has tons of
"D" class allies (slaves. . . ). Oh and Don't forget the Mongols that I own that
I got from you, I since purchased enough chinese to make a Yuan Mongol army
which can have around 192 or so Reg D foot not including the Mongol Cav. . .
Need I say more? Why don't you just give me a call and I'm sure your
children(your former figgy's) would love to see daddy again! By the way, Steve
Hollowell and I get together on Mondays and usually show up at Table Top with
the DGS guys. Tonight were sticking around Steves to play some warrior being all
wore out from painting our butts off this weekend. I knocked out a
sizeable unit of crossbowmen for my knights of St. John army I've been working
on.
On another note, have you considered looking at the Later Teutonic Knights
list? It has lots of great "D" class morale troops along with some of the best
Kiiiniggits in the game. I got the impression that you were considering painting
that army again. . .

<DS>Yeah, but not as good as mine!! ;)

<DS>Alexandrian Imperial.....not good for DoW. No there are figures
that I can get which would be exactly what I need....I just have to
decide between another 15mm army played occasionally, or my all time
favorite 25mm army that I will play much more (theoretically
speaking, that is.)

Kelly-Pete;
You are too kind, I shall take that into consideration. No, no, no,
no to all those puny insignificant little armies that you've
mentioned. No, this one is the premiew DoW army if I've ever seen
one...which I haven't, but I don't let that cloud my judgement!
Hmmmm...taking back the Romans to concentrate on the
xxxxxx....hmmmmm. I'll let you know!!!
