Fellow Warriors...
The rules and first army book are done and being mailed. Here is
what's next:
1. As questions get asked I will post and continue to update a
clarifications file both here and on our website (soon to be
announced). The official Warrior rules will consist of, and ONLY of,
the rulebook you bought from us and the most current edition of that
clarifications file, which I would like to think will never grow
longer than a couple pages. There will be no 'interp book' since I
don't interpret myself, I clarify what I meant. FHE, and I
assume NASAMW, will not recognize unofficial 'interp books' and such,
but in your own basement or at a non-NASAMW event, you can do
whatever you like and more power to you. So, the best thing we can
all do to keep a worldwide standard understanding of the rules is to
send me your confusions and concerns here and I will place
the 'answer' in the clarifications.
2. Note that section 14.0 of the rules is only a guide, an event
organizer can have terrain, deployment, table size, etc any way he or
she wants.
3. I have not had a single comment on either of our two current x-
rules. I assume that is because everyone is waiting for the rulebook.
4. I have started work on both Fantasy Warrior and Campaign
Warrior. I will have playtest drafts out AFTER people have had time
to digest the core rules, and not until after Cold Wars in any case.
Speaking of Cold Wars, I hope to see many of you there.
Jon

X-rules comment.
I like the idea of the harder to fail moral rule using the d10 system
(unless your B class). Another idea would be to make the moral equate to
2d6 roll - dice people might already be carrying.
We have not play tested this rule in DFW, but I am eagerly awaiting time to.
In regards to other X rules, I am waiting on my set of the rules so I know
what would be valid X-rule.

We will make those x-rules that pass playtest muster into official optional
rules.

Thanks, Don. We are pretty pleased.
Yes, please do send any and all comments to include typos (I've found some
already myself and I looked at that damn thing 10000 times).
We will include typos at the bottom of the clarification sheet and if we
actually ever do a second printing (NOT 2d edition).

I find the d10 system as currently constructed bad, waaaay bad. If you
compare the percentages with it and the d6 system, it simply puts the
"screwed" onus on other morale grades and doesn't really do so in a
logical or systematic way. There is also the pervading myth among
wargamers that "A Class" morale troops never break, rout, pee their
pants/kilts/boxer shorts. It's one I've never subscribed too given the
bulk of historical evidence.
But......that's what makes the x-rule concept interesting and I'm glad
we're opening up this pandora's box for everybody to explore. I'm
hoping that we can periodically tweak the existing x-rules to reflect
greater playtesting of them. In that way, others can potentially adopt
an x-rule knowing it's been playtested to death. Or playtest it
themselves.

Got my rulebook and it looks sharp. Spiral bound was an excellent choice.
So far I am pleased with the resolution of some of our sticky issues. While
you did not always use the solution we came up wtih, at least you gave it
merit and did publish a solution. I love that evaders do not involentarily
interpenetrate any more. I always hated that. I also like that an
interpenetrating evader that does not make it all the way through has to see
if its butt gets hit before moving clear. In the past too many people used
the teleporting magic of interpenetration to escape. Thanks for the big
charging at evaders section. I still have to read and reread the rules for
full effect, but so far it looks great!!!
Also thanks for the shout out in the front of the book. I REALLY appreciate
that.
I have found several typos and word ommisions. Do you want those?
Don
