I got some more 25mm Assyrians from Eureka the other day. I got some 2 horse
chariots, they are great yada yada yada, based on Nigel Tallis' research, yada
yada yada. It's boring heaping even more praise on Eureka!
Anyway, to get to the point of this topic, I also ordered a few unneeded
figures, like zombie pirates, for a laugh. I ordered the Assyrian "prisoners",
expecting some like the prisoners in the NKE paintings, with Syrians, Sea
Peoples, Libyans, all tied up in woefully painful ways. Instead, I got a nude
"prisoner", impaled with a pike in his gut, coming out his neck, and back into
his head! The other end of the "pike" (brass rod) is sticking in the ground,
with a pile of stones to secure it. Note that the pike goes in the navel, up
through the chest, and out the neck. This is not the more leisurely impalement
up the rectum. That is for when you want to devote special care, and you have
the time to "do it right". These poor souls are the victims of a mass display
of err, ummm, displeasure with the whole district.
So, if anyone is assembling a Vlad Tepes Wallachian army, go to the Eureka
catalog, and check out Assyrians for some essential detail and camp figures.
