|
Hello,
At the wargames club I belong to everybody else plays DBM. I
understand that the rules have a different philosophy, but the thing
that strikes me most about the games is that a player can quite
easily lose control of an entire command if it contains impetuous
troops.
In Warrior the approach to impetuous troops is radically different
and I was just wondering what impetuosity represents in Warrior?
Lastly, regular cavalry can only go impetuous if a General in Line
of Command within 240 paces and his body also declares a charge.
Does this also have to be impetuous and what happens if it is
cancelled.
Thanks, Steve

DBM is more of a grand tactical game and Warrior is a tactical game. DBM tries
to give a generic feel for the flow of an entire battle. Warrior lets you take
command of the action at a lower level. Look at a DBM battle as if you were
fliying over it in a helicopter and a Warrior battle as if you were on a hill
right behind the battle line.
in DBM troops 'go impetuous' by mechanics. In Warrior you get into situations
you don't have full control of through player decisions.

In Warrior, an impetuous charge is one that is characterized by significant fury
and momentum, but less control over the outcome.

The general's charge does not have to be impetuous and even if cancelled allows
mounted regs to declare impetuous charges.
