(This email was sent to the WAB egroups)

All;

A sad note today. I've decided to cancel the KC WABfest II that was
scheduled for October 6th at Border Wars. The reasons are numerous,
but it seems apparent to me that Kansas City and environs are not
that receptive to Warhammer Ancients. The response has been fairly
bleak, and I owe it to those stalwarts like Steve Miller, Steve
Schifani, and Doug Marston who were planning on making the trek from
out of the area, a better overall gaming experience than what I
perceived we would create.

I have been approached by others about replacing WAB with a Warrior
tournament or Fast Warrior tournament. I will take this under
consideration, and determine if T.A.P.S. (Tallgrass Ancients Players
Society) will sponsor a Warrior tourney in place of WAB. If so, then
the Sword of the Ancients (Roman gladius replica), will be awarded to
the winner of this tournament. I also need to determine what scale
(15mm vs. 25mm) we should have for this event. I will let you know
as soon as possible.

Dave

PS. If there are some Warrior players that would like to attend
this, please let me know of your intentions, as well as the scale
that you would prefer.

Prizes given, will include the Sword of the Ancients, gift
certificates to Table Top Game and Hobby for 2nd and 3rd place, and
perhaps a painted Fast Warrior 15mm army in a special category. Info
on the convention can be found at www.hahmgs.org (disregard the Heart
of America Warhammer Ancients Championships).

If you run a Warrior tourney I will come........

I say it would only be appropriate to make it a 25mm Tourney if you
are going to award such a nice prize. But I will play either 15mm or
25mm just let me know.
