Here in Kansas City we have found that having scheduled games and frequent
tournaments is a great way to both promote Warrior and keep up the interest of
our new players.
I am currently running a 10 player Warrior league (1200 to 1600 points - the
players agree on the size of the game). This league is set up with 2 divisions
of 5 players each and also has inter division play. Previously Jon ran a
campaign game with 8 players.
We average a Warrior tournament locally every 3 months, not counting regional or
national events some of us attend.
These two types of set games provide a steady schedule of games for everyone.
However, this is especially important for newer players who may be reluctant to
challenge or try to play the "veterans". All of us have our regular gaming
partners, even within a club. Leagues and tournamemts expand the number of
players you regularly play and promote interest.
If your group is not running some type of league, I strongly recommend it. It
makes games fresh and it makes them matter. And that makes for more fun.

The current method being used up here in the Great White (and very cold)
north, is a combination of methods.
1. Regular gaming nights. It's currently Thursdays and all are welcome.
2. A league to keep track of position. In essence keep track of wins/loses
from the regular gaming night.
3. Starting a campaign. This is set up to kick off at Pandemonium on the
last weeked of February and we are running a Warrior tournament there
(counting for Historicon nationals assuming we get enough players) and all
are welcome. Contact me if you want more information).
For comment and criticism, the current BETA version of the campaign rules
can be found at
http://www.deep-strike.com/files/beta1historicalcampaignrules.doc Comments
are encouraged and welcome, and feel free to make use of these. If anybody
does use them, I would be interested to here how they work so that I can add
improvements.

Mike
I am interested in why you did not choose to help us playtest Campaign Warrior
with your campaign. Is there something in it you did not like?

Because I have never been offered, or seen an offer, to playtest Campaign
Warrior. I've never had access to the rules and was afraid to ask.
If I had access I'd certainly see about scamming ideas from it as I
understand it is more a book of ideas and thoughts (kinda like the SFB
Campaign Designers Handbook) than a set of hard and fast rules.

You're right, I am surprised to learn it is not in the files section. I'll send
it to you. But there certainly was a call for playtesters - you may not have
been a member then.

Now *that* isn't on me...lol
