In the original game (TOG), I was allowed to base 1 or 2 light bolt shooters
per element or model. I was studying the LIR list looking for more stuff to
exploit and noticed that the artillery model lines didn't work the way they
used to work. Now the list permits 0 - 6 light bolt shooter models and any
can be on a cart. I can't field two units of four light bolt shooters on
two bases any more which is mildly annoying. Of course, 6 bolt shooters on
carts would be kind of amusing too.
1. Is the deletion of the option to double base light bolt shooters
deliberate? I even got out the rule book and looked on the yahoo web site
for clarifications and stuff, the option seems to have gone away completely.
I'm happy to play either way, but I don't want to rebase my double light
bolt shooters unless I have to. The fire density advantage to double basing
is very handy.
2. If deletion of the option was an oversight, may I suggest that the
solution for any and all lists be to add the option to add two crew per
model for non-animal or vehicle mounted light bolt shooters? I'm trying to
keep any global list clarifications as clean as possible and avoid getting
mixed up with bolt shooters on carts (Roman) or elephants (Khmer or Champa).
So an example using the LIR list might look like this
light bolt shooter, 2 RC crew @ 20
0 - 6
Extra to mount bolt shooter on cart @ 10
any
Extra to add two crew to non-animal, non-vehicle mounted light bolt shooter
@ 20 any
