Dear All,
The CANCON competition has been run and won down here in Australia.
Format was 15mm- 1650pts -single list armies - On 6 by 4 tables. 6
games over 3 days (2 per day)- game duration 3 and a half hours.
pre-set terrain-Swiss chess draw system.
There were 18 players who took part in all games and the comp was
played in its usual friendly and generally relaxed style. At the start
of Day three almost everyone was still in with a chance to place in the
event. Thanks to CGS, Dave Lawrence for his organisational skills and
to Paul Koshel for doing the Umpiring duties.
I will send through a full report on the comp (well my take on it at
least) a bit later, however the results were.
1st- Darren Holmes 23 pts Sass. Persian
2nd Mike Morgan 22 pts- Arch. Persian
3rd Paul Colins 19 pts Kom. Byzantines
Reminder of Upcoming Australian comps
Melwarrior- 19-20 March (part of Caeser’s Challange-Melbourne)
Aust 25mm Championships- 23-25 April (Newcastle)
BMW comp- June11-13 (Blue mountains)
BTW: in addition to all the Australian Players- We would love to see
some players from Oversees at any of these tournaments-
we can generally lend armies -assist with accommodation etc.-
So, start planning your quest for world warrior domination now :)
Cheers,
Greg Preston
